About the Farm...Cultivating Impact, a program of the non-profit organization Collective Impact, is an organic produce farm located in Sonoma County. The farm, originally called Shea's Organics, operated as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) for two years, delivering produce to families on a weekly basis throughout Sonoma County. (If you are interested in joining a CSA, Local Harvest is a great resource to help you locate one in your area.) In January of 2008, we decided to transition the farm into something that would give more back to our community, focusing on education and assisting low income residents in purchasing our healthy foods. Currently we are growing a wide variety of heirloom tomatoes, as well as peppers, herbs, winter squash and cut flowers. All of our products are distributed locally, sustaining our community and reducing our dependence on fuel and our impact on the air we breathe. We believe fresh, healthy foods should not be a luxury only for the wealthy, but an affordable option for people of all income levels. Therefore, we donate a significant portion of our produce to local food banks as well as another program of Collective Impact-Opportunity Impact, which provides skills and opportunities to youth living in public housing. We are currently in the process of purchasing additional land in an area that will be more amenable to community gatherings and educational tours. Please stay posted for updates on the new property!
